Shot in one continuous, brilliant structured take, Victoria follows a curious runaway girl from Madrid as she joins a group of Berliners in what starts out as a fun tour of Berlin nightlife and ends up as a chaotic bank robbery and a struggle to protect her life.
Victoria (Laia Costa) is a young girl craving experiences of all kinds. Enticed by the capricious energy of a motley foursome of Berliners, she joins up with the young men for some fun. Quickly, things quickly start to get romantic with Sonne (Frederick Lau), one of the more charismatic of the group. But when the boys’ real intentions for the evening becomes clear, Victoria’s night becomes a roller coaster ride of drugs, guns and high speed pursuits. Unfolding in a fluorescent-lit evening of partying, this one-take wonder explores the perils of debauchery. Beautifully orchestrated and unfailingly tense, Victoria is a technical feat that cinema rarely sees.
