When FBI informant Saeed “Shariff” Torres invites filmmakers to follow him during a live counterterrorism sting, what results is a documentary that is a gripping, real-life thriller examining the ethical boundaries of domestic safety tactics in a post 9/11 world.

After working for 20 years as an FBI informant, Saeed “Shariff” Torres, gets called to Pittsburgh on a surveillance mission, a job he hopes will be his last. With a young son to protect, he becomes increasingly aware of the questionable methods employed by the FBI. With his own conscience at stake, Torres allows filmmakers Lyric R. Cabral and David Felix Sutcliffe to document the covert operation, unbeknownst to his FBI superiors. Tasked with investigating a suspected Al Qaeda supporter, Torres allows cameras to follow him every step of the way. What results is a tense and captivating exposé into an organization that straddles the line between preventing crimes and creating them. But when Torres’ own dubious past comes to light, his cover is compromised, culminating in a twist worthy of a Hollywood thriller. (T)ERROR is the first documentary to allow audiences unprecedented access to the inner workings of the FBI as it operates in a modern surveillance state.
